| Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, New York: Random House, 1946, Hard Cover Set in original box. Stated "special edition." Tenniel illustrations, colored by Fritz Kredel. Box is faded appropriate to age but otherwise good, books are in good condition and have marvelous illustrations. The cover of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland shows Alice swimming with a rat. The cover of Through the Looking Glass shows Alice trying to pull the Knight up off the ground with a horse next to them eating grass. The last page of each book states, "This edition of (title) was designed by George Salter. The John Tenniel illustrations from the original edition were colored in the manner of the period by Fritz Kredel." Very nice collector's set.
